A Pillar Gone
A Pillar Gone The old man in church, sat in the front row, forever. He was there when I came, and I thought… he would be there forever. He died. The lesson, God took him home. He is well. He had lived a long life. He was well loved by many. That is a good way to live and die, to go home to heaven…and be with Jesus. Truly… a life worth living and even dying, to live forever with the King. While the man was here, he had a wife, children, and loved ones. While the man was here, he made a difference to many. He stood up for things that were right. He was counted when it was necessary…to be. The measure of a man, too short too tall, The reason we are here at all… To love each other, to love Our Lord, The height and stance of honor, The soft and yet binding strength of empathy, and compassion, coupled with God’s guidance. Ever shall the man be remembered, by those that knew his heart. We will see you again, friend. We will sing before Our Lord in the choir of eternity… In His Name! Amen.
