Writer's Block
Struck dumb by old dreams which have failed to spawn, the tired, blank muse ends her walk ‘cross the lawn. Dulled once more cause the light just will not dawn. With naught to prompt her, she sneaks up the stair. When bright young bards hope to find words to share; in deep sleep, she’s no help, out like a bear. Two bards play ball; three take pets for a stroll; four watch while a mare gives birth to a foal. One draws that scene as two more catch a mole. One cleaned the house of a friend who is ill. Three read the same book; one cooked on the grill; two from a band blew their horns, marched the drill. Who needs a muse? be the muse, seize your days! First catch their mood then poise your pen to blaze. September 27, 2019 contest: Because It's a Tuesday 140/140 host: William Kekaula
