Pierce the Fear
Fear grabs hold of me Keeping me grounded in place Like an anchor to a ship As its dark claws take hold Clutched tightly around my neck. My breathing shortening with each breath Fear begins to squeeze the life out of me Waiting for the moment my soul leaves my body His sickening grin awaiting to devour me While he enjoys my suffering. Though I am speechless to speak out My mind beginning to slip My heart slowly beating Yet my soul stirs As a great flame Ignites from within me. I began to ask myself Was I going to let fear win? Was I going to submit to him? Was I going to die? Was I going to allow it? No! I refuse to die! Not here and not now! I will not let him Take hold of my soul I refuse to let him win It ends right here and now! Rage and Fury take place As I felt adrenaline Beginning to rush through Surging through every vein Every muscle and fiber within me. I drew every inch of strength To reach for my sword Gripping it tightly As I took a deep breath Letting out a shrilling scream A mighty battle cry of courage! I swiftly kicked Fear in his jewels Breaking free from his grasp Taking a few steps back Before charging forth like a bull I held my sword as I charged forth And I pierced the demon right in his heart! I struck him down toward the ground As he let out an ear-piercing scream He squirmed as he struggled to break free But how would one break free If he's pinned down Like the pathetic insect he was? I stared down right at my fear Eyes cold as ice before spitting at him "You shall no longer terrorize me, Fear. You have no control over me anymore." Then I turned and walked away As the demon slowly ceased to exist Transforming into a cloud of black dust That drifted into the air until it was nothing.
