Ebony Reflections
ebony reflections shadow October’s great finale- the eventide dusk sky is filled with thick and obscure grey fog (swaddled in depth) the moon is half aglow tonight; shaded by an aria of somber clouds swarming it with intensity; black bats envelope the sky like a midnight silhouette, for all that is hallowed shall dwell in vain below the Halloween moon, children are pretending to be what they are not and (probably never will be) candy is passed and eaten, a please and thank you given- not knowing what lives beyond the trees they breathe from it has been said the moon holds not a piece of iniquity, but tonight- I heard a resounding echo from a raven’s tune, under the brilliance of the Halloween moon September 25, 2019 Chantelle Anne Cooke Halloween Moon Poetry Contest
