Far Greater Than a Trivial Poem
I was standing there, silent Looking for words, supposedly proactive And knew some way, that this is not the time And perhaps it will never be that way for us, anyhow. This could be a story of our obtuse feelings A story of some indigent souls And a story of their egregious journey. This could be a story of war, of winning or losing But, I was feeling numb and shocked To see him in such an awful pain And he was crying without a single word For his poor mother, a dying soul. This could be an inertia of our delirium state of mind A delicate balance between our faith and frustration And, None ventured to consecrate the course with further noise. For, It is too hard to mediate the depth of sad moments at times. But, It turned out to be a story not less than anything, For understanding in awakening could be another virtue, Existing in those pages of the book of life, Which is far greater, sometimes. Perhaps far greater than a trivial poem. Eight word challenge 9 Poetry Contest Sponsored by: John Hamilton |
