The Great Wall
The Great Wall In this land, far from home, I can not “call out” your Name. They… will put me in a dark place, and leave me there, forever. (yet, still I pray, as I can never stop) In this land far, from home, I go because you send me. Your word, Your book! (“the book” for fear to speak out loud the truth: the Bible) They tell me where to go, and even were to look. In this land, far from home, I share my heart with strangers. I tell them there is a better way, and some day, You will be back… to stay! In this land, far from home, the evil eyes they watch us. “Watch your words!” (change them to suit us, or be silent) “Watch your body!” (do not dance or sing, to be happy is to be alive) “Watch your language.” (the meaning, must be the one “we” desire ) Teach, yes I give you my (who really?) permission. (evil plays with the naive) I am the voice of this ancient place, this hidden land. Mystery and sadness abound, here. In a world without freedom or Light! I bring the words of my land to you… Yet, with rules I must follow. They lay it out at every shout… I must or leave! I will not bow my head, I will not kneel to say…or again, they will take me… away. So I smile, and look up at my Lord, my God, I stand as He meant me to be, In the face of tyranny and even death, He is with me. Silly soldiers, you just can’t see.
