In Memory
In memory of a kid that was lured to his death by teens in a small community who Just wanted to hurt him for fun and then left him. One of them felt bad enough That they called 911 but the police didn’t search very hard and didn’t find him… When his grandfather found him he was barely alive and died on the way to the hospital. Such a tragedy that was senseless and will change the lives of many forever. 8-30-2019 In Memory Tear drops fall slowly down from my tender heart News of your death tore it completely apart Cruelty by others that is beyond my belief Causing a plethora of crying human grief You a boy of sweet laughing innocence Lured into a trap by youth insolence You didn’t know they wished you harm Trustingly you fell under their charm Then they left you alone choking for breath When your grandpa found you not far from death Now we are left asking for truth and a heartfelt why? Our world creates those who care naught for the other guy Is it video games and headphones tied into their ears That leave our children unconnected alone with their fears? Is it parents who work too many hours each and every day Leaving their kids to find their own ways to play? Bullying and teasing online and in school hallways While others just look away glad it’s not them, in a daze As his community and family grieve for his senseless passing I pray there is healing and a change that is really lasting
