Hills
Hills have always made me wonder what it's like to stand atop each and every one of them, surveying every thing below be it small, large or in-between as if all I surveyed belonged to me as part of my mystical domain. Hills have always made me wonder who stood atop them before me and if, they too, felt as I and what they did upon realizing that hills are always there to offer new perspectives, to confirm old perspectives, to tell new stories or conjure up old ones on Life, on Love, on All that ever was. Hills have always made me wonder how I can go back down to that flat world below and not have been changed by my being so above all the things that never mattered, things petty and mundane, inconsequential things that have no meaning nor importance to how Life is and should be, for that is what being on a hill has taught me. Hills have always made me wonder how things so small as seen from my hilltop vision have diverted me from saying, doing and feeling what I have always wanted to say, to do and feel all along, but somehow life in the flat world sometimes can't accommodate a hilltop vision and that is why we must look at every thing be it small, large or in-between as if it were all part of our own mystical domain where all is possible, all is available and all can be achieved for this is what being on a hill can show you when you are ready to see. copyright © 2019 Gregory Firlotte
