You served the Lord so eagerly with every passing day Through passing tracts or on a bus to bring some kids our way. You never wanted praise or fame for any loving deed, You knew the favor of the Lord was all you really need. And so, today, though some health fails and time has taken toll, You wouldn’t trade one day of all the blessings to your soul. For over half your married life, you’ve been a special friend To our church and my wife and I that God to us did send. So, as you celebrate this day when God there made you one, I pray you’ll find His presence dear as you look to His Son. I pray His comfort you will feel in many special ways, For I’m aware how difficult it’s been for you these days. Your faith will see you through the days you still have here below, No matter what may happen next, you’re in His care, you know. Yes, fifty years of memories!
