His brother was handsome, his sister was pretty, But he was so ugly, everyone just took pity. One day he ran off to the woods, Where he promised himself, he would stay there for good. After a while he decided to sit, His paws were hurting, he would rest for a bit. His tummy was hungry, there was nothing to eat, No fruit or fish or nuts or meat. He heard a noise- it sounded like crying, He wanted to help but he didn’t like spying. He tiptoed along, as softly as he could, So as not to scare them, with his face, that would. Someone was crying from behind a big tree, So, he shouted “hello, it’s alright, it’s just me.’’ ‘Please don’t come near me’ said whoever was there, ‘You’ll only be scared and that wouldn’t be fair!’ ‘But you cannot scare me’ said the bear in reply, ‘If you saw my face, then you would know why.’ The creature appeared from behind the big tree, ‘I’m a bear’ she said, ‘ugly as can be.’ As they looked at each other for a very long time, Each bear thought the other looked perfectly fine! So, consider our world where vanity rules, Then think of the bears and don’t be fooled.
