Could Have
You appeared into this life of mines At very stressful time I was letting go & you were pulling in So I thought that was a sign Turned a sad picture into a pretty painting And you were the design Told me from the start “Don’t look back because I cant get left behind” Those words and so many more Like are you really ready Told her yes but in my chest Knew that there was something heavy A damaged heart & high emotions Which could break me any day But on the surface: calm and cool Is how it was displayed Infatuation at such a high degree That is was profound Because when it I think of it I think of you And it seems to get me down How I let her go so easy How I distract you with my past Letting my history be the reason That me and you didn’t last My selfishness caused you to leave I know to you it wasn’t fair But do you ever think of me And honestly can you say that you don’t care And I know you learn from life But maybe we could have been You’ll always be inside my heart That part will just be dim
