Reality In the Emergency Room
"reality in the emergency room" tonight I woke up fighting for air. a pressure upon my chest like no other. sweating profusely, I stood to my feet. down to the ground I went hitting my head on the rail of my bed. I got into my car and drove myself to the hospital. the female I am with didn’t know I was in the hospital until later that night. I never told her but she knew. although, she never showed up, she was angry at earlier texts. I went to her house and she wasn’t there. apparently at her brother’s house where she couldn’t answer the phone. obvious nonetheless. I share the same laugh as you the reader. my last visit to the hospital, I forbade her visit and routine interest. she yelled at me for not needing anyone. tonight she had an opportunity but chose not to go. her reason: she had no ride. I once told her, I’d never be as important as those men she puts before me or the excuse to be around their wives or girlfriends as the stepping stone to them. today her daughter was in need of an emergency room visit herself. she had no ride. she found one. me. now I sit and write knowing what I know and it’s perfect.
