Afternoon Passing Into Evening
Whether you are autumn sun or monsoon moon is not much significant for me now Will you stay the same in your intransigence or you will turn a receptive river that is the point, she said Now you exult you love me and I you Just as the breeze fondles the dense forest Though I am an atheist and you a dogmatic Hindu Will still the moon be shining as we move ahead Along the road of snow and sun,she sounded doubtful How can I shun my faith Though we are in deep love Isn't it weird in my wings both love and sadness flapping River or hills which I should prefer I am not sure I said while my chin on my knees Rocks reek intransigence so do mountains Boasting their grey insolence Scoffing at the accommodating plains Just look at the sugar maple calling the sun for shadows Do they hold an intransigent rock as faith She sounded logical Come let’s be a receptive confluence of two rivers Pruning the garden of our thoughts and beliefs In consonance with the changing time and its changing values Nothing including the sun and moon is absolute She was assertive I looked at the contour of a girl in the lake Afternoon passing into evening A flower closing its petals An ambulance toward the hospital Sounds of dew setting out Not an iota of intransigence 21 July 2019 Intransigence Poetry Contest Sponsored by: John Hamilton
