Midnight Dancing
I'm dancing here so close to midnight It's not right but my soul was born to fight Chamber after chamber I considered the dangers That hate bound us together but love made us strangers I ascended so high these stairs To find a lair of nobody who cares Struck at the door my feet cemented in place A lost case I couldn't see their face Black and white ran down my cheeks like tears Hear me now they orchestrated all of my fears They thrust upon me a mirror to peer at eyes so somber But it somehow left me calmer With clarity I freed my feet and darted Unsure if I could reclaim what I had when I started At the top of the tower midnight was the hour To the backdrop of a star shower I'm dancing here on top of the tower at midnight You're no longer here but my soul was born to fight And though I thought I overcame the dangers The truth is it only made us strangers
