Petals In the Whisper Wind
Petals in the whisper wind which fell from your hair, past your face, my friend which graced muddy ground with their skin pink soft and silently slipped from our minds We walked down the street with our arms entwined, with the wind at our feet and our hearts on our minds, The blossom of cherry behind your left ear, fell silent, as anxious as us to hear Dropping our guards as she dropped all her petals Slipping the night into pockets unfettered Holding our slim, whispered words in orbit Pausing in retrospect so the other absorbed it We walked passed the library bulging with voices of archaic love and incredible choices of dust and of drab and of life yet unlived We walked arm in arm like we'd something to give to the streets, to the air, to the whisper wind frost which will haul into winter and tell us we're lost Lost without flowers and lost without souls Lost as the clock ticks one moment to old Petals in this whisper wind which fell from your hair, past your face, my friend Let's stop in our stride and bend low to the ground savoring spring while we're still to be found...
