Age
I look in the mirror and what do I see A strangers face looking back at me. With wrinkled brow and greying hair A face that's worn and lined with care. Looking into eyes of fading blue I stand and wonder, who are you? What is there if truth be told It can't be me, he's too old. Aching bone and joints that creak Teeth and glasses I have to seek, A stomach that always complains And a back that's racked with pains. But wait is that a twinkle bright Or is it just a trick of the light, Beneath these line a smiling face Quietly slips back into place. Age is a number so they say But we grow older day by day, Just don't let it get you down Show a smile not a frown. The youth I left behind Still rambles through my mind, Hoping that some sunny day He'll come back to stay
