Snowflakes Falling Everywhere
In my dream I am walking through the frozen snow, past snow drifts like swans asleep in a wintry meadow; and drifting in the cold is the song of a little sparrow . . . Then, many are singing like the low wails of a violin, and the wind is whispering as the snowflakes begin; like gauzy curtains of infinite white they twirl and spin, and in this winter storm I am lost within. I raise my hands for the filigree flakes like lace, and the snowflakes soft as a lover's kiss my face; all through the forest the snow and trees embrace, with a winter scene before me where all things interlace. Crystalline ice drips from branches like diamonds, and imagine that I lay myself down in winter woodlands; dreaming, dreaming of trees with festive garlands; and birds of color like Christmas balls by the thousands. I gasp for breath in the frosty, frigid bitter air, for it is time to leave this ice-kissed dream- oh tear; how I wish for a warm coat not a white gown threadbare, and now the snowflakes are falling, falling everywhere. ________________________ December 4, 2017 (Edited) Poetry/Rhyme/Snowflakes Falling Everywhere Copyright Protected, ID 17-1150-629-0 All Rights Reserved.
