What's Holding You Back
A man once told a story that; As walking through a training camp, he spotted an elephant not being kept in a cage nor held by the use of a chain. All that was holding him back from escaping the camp, was a small piece of rope tied to one of his legs. As the man gazed upon the elephant, he was completely confused as to why the elephant didn’t just use his strength to break the rope and escape. The elephant could have easily broken the rope, but instead, he didn’t try at all. Curious and wanting to know the answer, he asked a trainer nearby why the elephant was just standing there and never tried to escape. The trainer replied; “When he was a young elephant and much smaller, I use the same size rope to tie his leg; and at that age, it’s enough to hold him. As he grows up, he was conditioned to believe he cannot break away. He believes the rope could still hold him, so he never tries to break free."  The only reason that the elephant wasn’t breaking free and escape from his confinement was that over time he had adopted the belief that it wasn’t possible to break free. The question is; What’s holding you back?
