Poverty
Poverty Feeling anxious, a need to keep moving, No destination in mind. My resting spots are my home. Loneliness, hunger, cold, worry, Companions the underprivileged travel with. Standing always, at the edge of nothing Fear is welcomed, Never has one felt so alive with death so near. Momentarily tears fill the eyes, Then nothing --- emptiness. Searching deep, and now deeper. Emotions steeped in feelings, Spread across the void, Time creeps over the deep. Oh the pain, the hurt, Scars and lines on the face etched deep The screams in dreams, in silence we cry, Never heard, will never be heard. Unsung heroes, the brave, we are the poor We suffer in silence, we overcome what can upset. It does not matter, what's in a name - Labels. How I love you Fathers, Mothers, my Brothers, and Sisters. Oh, how I love you.
