Rain In the Meadow
I wandered through the meadow fair Where grasses green and sun did glare When suddenly the rain did come A host of droplets one by one. Waters pouring and soaking leaves Branches dancing in cool breezes. Continuously the drops fell in time And stretched in never ending lines. A wealth of droplets shining bright A host of diamonds in shadowed light. Drops that sprinkled as the milky way. It rained and rained and rained that day. Birds rushing to their shelters near Singing, singing the rain is here. Droplets by thousands at a glance Moving, moving to their dance. I wandered through the meadow green. And the rain never stopped it seemed. I wondered where the sun did hide Since all these drops had arrived. I wondered if the rain would stop Since on all things the drops did drop. Continuously rain dropped and dripped And then the wind began to whip. I ran through the meadow fair To escape the rain no time to spare. When suddenly sun came out to play And all the droplets hid away.
