After I'M Gone
After I'm Gone By: Tom Wright 6/27/98 Who shall tie your little shoes or tuck you into bed? Who'll always plant a tender kiss upon your nodding head? After I'm gone. Who'll sit up nights when you're sick or by your bedside kneel? Asking God, to please let them have That unknown pain you feel. After I'm gone. Who'll be at home to see you off to school on your first day? Or help you with life's problems You encounter along the way. After I'm gone. Who will teach you how to curl and fix your tresses fair? Or tell you things you need to know Will there be one to care? After I'm gone. When later in your teens I'll wonder If you can sew and cook? Who'll see your face with reddish glow From a boy's first look? After I'm gone. Someday from Heavens portals I'll look and be pleased with what I see. For though I cannot teach these things you'll learn them without me. After I'm gone. Perhaps a dying mother's thoughts.
