The Monkey In the Sky
They sway under the willows and sleep under the stars, prancing without fear and becoming who they should be. With a sky full of dancing bears and one single monkey, they forget the older days when life was full of scars. Tunes of romance played with violins and guitars- so, this night was one to remember for all eternity. Soon will come a day when all changes for these two, they shall see the lightning flash and hear thunder roar. When the stars begin to fade, is when love closes its door. I will never forget the sky so ebon not the color blue. He held her in his arms lifeless down by 5th Avenue, it’s where the sky’s monkey perished like never before. He whispered “goodbye, my love...” at her tomb one Sunday. Clouds of baby blue encompassed him, and he began to cry tears of pain yet he felt a comfort that he could not deny, and as he opened his eyes all the sorrow flew away. No, he will never forget when she embraced him that day… it was when he saw a monkey in the clouds in the sky. “For she is sleeping peacefully here up where it’s crystal clear, at night look at the sky at me and you shall know she is near.” (A tale told by a sappy monkey living in the clouds above.)
