In Honor of the Single Queen Elizabeth
Bring them in, if you must, these fawning men Bring them to me, and give me a gander which matters not. Believe me when I tell you that they can look bright as a cool spring, But I will not be tempted by beauty, for inside each is a hidden vice. Lucky it is my mind does not allow a handsome man to turn my heart. I am not in awe of a misogynist knight who boasts of daring deeds Leery of most men's hidden agenda, I know there is a not-so-eager Side he hides, for he knows better than to show his truth right away Give me the ones with the blemishes I can easily see. For they are not as haughty, and arrogant as the ones Whose blemishes are hidden away in a mean heart, Or an evil plotting soul. Spare me all men. I can do this alone.
