The Distant Broken
Fly through the sun and rain. The nights and days, they came. Your beating heart was all the world could hear. Many commended your existence. So sorry that didn't last, for it happened too fast. They took it all away from behind your back. Open doors were ahead of you in those days. It was all enough for you. Just not to them, not anymore. They pulled you into a cage. You couldn't choose whether to go or stay. It doesn't make a difference. They didn't understand. You could only realize that this was just as they planned. As your voice grew faint, the world could no longer hear. The lost cries for help that no one chased. Whatever was known of you was soon erased. So was this a trap built of their own? Or a prison of your fear? Closed doors was what life you were stuck behind. Something no one else could find. Walk into a void unimaginable. The path wasn't too far nor too near. It wasn't too fragile nor hard to find. It's just what's between you and them was a fine line. No one cared,it was ignored. So it seemed you would never touch the floor. The crow's wing was broken, like it was thought it should be. And that was something no one could see. That didn't matter. No one could hear. Didn't they make it clear that you belonged in here? Said the voices in their minds, ones you'll never find. Enjoy the cage, insanity and rage. For your mind could only say so much to you. This isn't real! This isn't real! This is all pretend and that's how I feel! The cage bars are trees. It's floor is grass of steel. Keep believing what your mind concealed. Monsters like them. Now monsters like you. What could you barter from it all in reality? Keep flying through the forest of your head. Until you can't take anymore. 31 years and too many days. 31 nights and months blew away. Don't punish the crow for the being that it is. For you didn't ask to be human as it didn't ask for this.
