An Alternative To Peace
Most days it's so peaceful when Kimmy leaves home, And the dust settles briefly, felled leaves never roam On the floor where they mold now (till she's home again) If not crunched in my passing, for some there's a win. Tornadic! Her presence can flavor the air With bright colors that linger though she is not there, Like red sky in the morning, an omen that warns That this life does have seasons and roses have thorns! Pedestrian's terror, her 'Bus' won't slow down For a crosswalk or stoplight. Oh, laughter's her crown When she feels tire's vibration and starts journey's song! One must stick to the 'highway' if you'd tag along! It's not that she's selfish, her vision's restrained Like a horse wearing blinders, and purchase not gained By suggesting diversions from what's straight ahead As the world passes by her, on sides, overhead! But she's my life's curry, samosa, hot sauce, Yes, each day is proactive when she thinks she's boss. I surrender for pleasure, not generous whim, Though at times it's a workout, like life in a gym! So, pardon my absence if I miss your call, For I'm living on credit if I'm home at all And to stay in the saddle is tricky at best! But I love my investment, no way I'd divest.
