Heart's Melody
I once heard music, all around me. The melody seemed to flow within. Always there when I wanted it to be. A special prize I was fortunate to win. Music so freeing, I felt I could dance on air. Lyrics so familiar I could sing along. Out of tune of course, but I didn't care. I was lighthearted singing my song. Music had the power to soothe my soul. Lilting notes gently flowing through. It distracted me, I could relax control. You can't resist when it calls to you. Whether the tune was happy or sad. It had a way to find the center of my heart. It could lift my spirit, or make me feel bad. Bringing memories that I had ended to restart. Unexpectedly, the life I knew, died, bringing pain. The sadness put an end to my heart's song. I don't know if this silence will remain. How will I dance, now that the music is gone?
