I furl these dark wing wings and wait, a wind is coming, coming to sweep me away. And finally you came, and opened the door to my cage, here in your heart I will stay. All the suffering you endure, all the pain it has brought for which there may be no cure. All the lies, and all we've ever known it repeats itself in time. My wing has been broken, telling you all that should never have been spoken. On the gentle winds we fly, till they knock us down, but we will not die. And now we're back in our cages again, waiting, hoping for the door to be left open by them. Through the open window we fly, deep into the darkness of the night. But this rusty cage is still locked, hiding my face, causing my feelings to be blocked. And when I escape I'll fly to you, pull you from your cage and show these feelings so long overdue. Now that we're out, we'll fly through this world with full faith, and without doubt. If it doesn't work the way it should, if it doesn't happen the way I know it could, I'll let the wind carry me home, and I'll let this blackbird flies away, may you never be broken again.
