One Step and Two Steps, Cat One and Cat Two
"From there to here, and from here to there, funny things are everywhere." Quote, Dr. Seuss _____________________ It was a sunny day when cat one said I'm bored, nothing happens here it all happens out there; come on, cat two, lets find some fun in the air, we will go on an adventure right down our street. Okay said cat two trembling a bit at the thought, (he was not that brave to tell you the truth); but keep your tail close, please so I stay connected, oh sigh, said cat one, there is nothing scary out there. So off they went one and two with tails entwined, (cat tails that is) down the street, one step, then two steps; one step, then two steps and on and on and on, and soon they were quite lost because they had no map. Oh golly gosh, I'm scared, cried cat two, shaking and shaking, oh bother, said cat one, lets seek out some fun; that's when they saw a big yellow dog leaping and running, come oh, yelled cat one, lets join that yellow dog thing. It was so much fun chasing that yellow dog around the park, until he turned and growled at them, ooops said cat one; follow me, and he ran up a green tree with cat two following, oh, this is not much fun being stuck in a tree, they loudly meowed. Up one branch and then two, and on and on to the very top, now, they could see everything from here to there; people gathered and they seemed to be enjoying the show, then, a red fire truck came for an up the tree cat rescue. Very quickly, the cats were safe back home because they had, i d e n t i f i c a t i o n - that's a big word but it saved them that day; soon, they were curled up together purring with their blue blanket, cat two whispered, no more adventures outside alone, okay, okay, OKAY? __________________________________ March 7, 2019 Poetry/Light Verse/One Step and Two Steps, Cat One and Cat Two Copyright Protected, ID 03-1121-918-07 All Rights Reserved, 2019, Constance La France Inspired by Dr. Suess
