More than just eggs that are colored so bright, Hidden in crevices just out of sight. More than just lilies blooming in spring; Easter is more than just all of those things. Out on a hillside three men had died, Two thieves and a Hebrew there crucified. One in the middle, beaten and bruised, Mocked by the witnesses, roughly abused. He had been nailed there, for He had claimed To be Messiah--now He was shamed. Darkness had fallen at high noon that day As God His Father had turned away. He became sin for all of mankind So that salvation in Him we could find. Then to a gravesite, a borrowed tomb, Jesus was placed, and His followers felt gloom. But on that morning of the first day An angel with earthquake rolled the stone away!
