My first poem, a gift, so unbelievably kind. It has become the voice that I have been denied. Feelings buried so deep are now free. Words come together, in ways that were never tried. It has filled the dark, empty void within me. Poetry has become my companion, my friend. It is with me through long sleepless nights. We come together, until the night's end. I am surprised to see the day's first light. It gives me purpose, a reason to be here. I want to give something in return if I can. Let it reach one person to help ease their fear. Something they can relate to and understand. This blessing has become salvation for me. I am grateful that what was lost, I have found. I don't know why all of this has come to be.
