The Game of Life
Life rings its warning bells at me, scaring me in the process, While nevertheless reminding me that its rules have already Been decried in books revered as being holy! A bit of probing is fine, boomed they, too much of it, suffocating Same as is complaining constantly of your given fate, Accept your due, else, you will be taken for a toddler, Throwing tantrums for no reason, When, in the very end, you will be given your dessert After you have had your food! I closed my eyes and let the warnings of life fill up my head Teasing my heart while they do so, caring not that they leave Scars, open and bleeding, while they do invade my whole ethos! Pray, life is just a game; we have no other choice than to accept The character we have been given; playing our best, yet, having To meet the end of the game somehow so that we can shift on To its sequel, bolder and better armed! Its bells keep on ringing and I opened to them, my palms Accepting my pains as well as my pleasures, taking them To be mere soap bubbles which tickle my senses so as to have me Fallen, once more, down below to the lowest level!
