A 'Lost Men's' Group
Is there sentient life that's not lost on its own, Though now Science has proven we all share one mother? And Neil, a new member was home as our brother, Though ripples do cross, Neil was not just a stone! Yes, all ripples fade too in man's memory's lake But if God does exist are man's ripples persisting! No stone ever thrown can choose endless resisting. Think God's mind has shore? My friend, that's what it'd take! To embrace all as brothers suggests you love God, That all struggle has meaning, the infinite serving, Much bigger for sure than the thought you're deserving. Neil's absence from Men's Group though sad is not odd! But my hope is Neil's journey brings new ways to serve, Not just 'feast by still waters,' but new ways of loving, That meeting Creator means more than forgiving, Might God's mind in future past ripples preserve? Brian Johnston 12th of February 2019 Poet's Notes: This memorial poem celebrates the life and service to the planet of Neil Zimmerman. Neil was the most recent member of a men's group I belong to. Members of our group have been sharing their lives once a week now for close to 30 years!
