Death
Death the Dreaded, Devastating and Devouring, Omnipotent, Overwhelming and Over –powering, When with outstretched hand it clutches its prey, There is no chance of escaping or getting away. As it wrenches out the vestige of life in in its hold, Victims are helplessly immobilised within its fold. Cold sweat appears, stiff limbs contort with fear, Breathing is laboured, with frantic gasps for air. In the grip of utter confusion, strength starts fast waning, The mind loses its focus, the dreaded darkness fast gaining, Silent tears keep brimming over the glassy sightless eyes, Betraying the unspoken reluctance to sever all worldly ties. Life is fast ebbing; Death the Destroyer is strolling out, It has been the triumphant victor without any doubt! Limp lies the victim, the last gasping pangs are no more. Death with a jubilant flourish, exultantly closes the door.
