Comfort For Miss Comfort
COMFORT FOR MISS COMFORT Cancer overtook her so suddenly, it seems, And soon she was there walking the homeland of her dreams. It was not there in Ghana, nor in the U. S. A.; No, it would be in heaven where she would live to stay. She joined my little class there with other ladies there And quietly she listened to studies I would share. She asked me for the copy of outlines I prepared, And it was such an honor to give them to her there. She sat in church each Sunday in a row in front of me, And little did I know then how soon from life she’d flee. But she was VERY READY! Her face and voice showed peace; She was not one bit fearful of life’s sweet full release. Now comfort for Miss Comfort is waiting on that shore, And she is healed from cancer to suffer never more! If we, too, know the Savior, that comfort’s for us, too. We’ll all be reunited with her up in the blue. Written in memory of Miss Doh Comfort, first one from my new Sunday School class to graduate to heaven.
