A Letter About My Friend
To Whom it may concern: I have known him since birth and beyond. I also knew his parents who were very Godly people in a very ungodly society. He descended from a very noble stock of people, and his bloodline can be traced back for many generations. He's my friend whose name I shall speak of a bit later, but for now, what's important is to point out how our close friendship set the tone for relationships I long to have with many people. Please allow me to cite one example of how our relationship as friends comes into play. For a period of time, I had been getting signals indicating some very bad behavior originating in the vicinity of my friend's country. This concerned me deeply because I did not want such behavior to spread and contaminate the whole of society. So here's what I did as one who did not desire to draw uncertain conclusions and condemn people without the facts or some kind of hearing. So I sent an investigating party of three men to ascertain the truth of the matter. But before going into the city in question, I ordered them to stop by my friend's place for a little while to deliver an important message. After eating and conversing with my friend, they set out to complete their primary mission, but then I thought to myself, "Shall I keep a secret from my friend regarding what I am about to do?" My answer was an absolute "No" because to be true friends requires trust, sharing of intents and secrets, and of course being open for input. It's been said that if we are fortunate enough to have two or three friends in life, we are most fortunate. I must say that a true friend is a "commodity of rarity". When I informed my friend of my intentions, he inquired of my plan and appealed to me for modification which I was more than happy to consider. After all, he is my friend. I must say that his appeal and intervention on behalf of that city made a difference. It did not save the city, but it portrays a dialogue between friends that is priceless. The destiny of mankind often hinges on the actions of friends like mine. In the movie, Tombstone, Doc Holiday was questioned about being involved in a fierce gunbattle in spite of his very serious illness. Referring to his friend Wyatt Earth, Doc replied, "He's my friend". His inquirer responded with, "All, Doc, I got lots of friends". Doc then replied, "I don't". Do you have a friend like mine? By the way, his name is Abraham. With love, The Lord God 604AM01042019FBPoSo;Gen18,Jn15:15
