A Kingdom On Fire
The sun is here again, bringing light to silent bodies in darkness, Oh! My country has turned into a mortuary. Children now walk with shadows for company, A woman in a cupboard is calling the name of her dead child, and I am just another voice wandering round and round empty streets. Jesus Christ! a man with the mask of Satan is shooting men from his dream, I ran so fast even his bullet couldn't catch up with me, I am tired, weary, hungry and thirsty now, A little house in my stomach is on fire and there is no river nearby. Do you know that before day break, gun will ring its alarm to remind the living its time to die? I guess my loved ones woke up to the sound of its venom in their veins. My world is tearing apart, I need to put an end to this misery. Then, I heard a voice bleed from the radio offering salvation, I put a gun in my mouth and swallowed the bullets, because I prefer to die a free man than to live in chains forever. 12/31/2018 SPONSOR: Edward Ibeh CONTEST: Misery
