I enjoy scenic countryside with mountains tall and canyons wide, in winter snows they look sublime… but mountain winters can freeze spit, I think I love the idea of it. I like a fast and racing pace, action on land, at sea, in space, with a smirk on the hero’s face, but I can barely take a hit, better to watch the idea of it. I like a stunner with fine curves, seductress who knows sexy words, to be swept up by the sight of her… but she’ll take my stuff if we split, only loved the idea of it. I’ve often thought I’d like a farm, a simple life with rustic charms, a rooster’s call as my alarm, but then I think of shoveling sh-t , I’ll just stick with the idea of it. I dream of castles way back when, great knights charge again and again, but I know if I lived back then I would have died before age six, best stick with the idea of it. All these notions capture our mind, and even if we had the time, I think, in truth, we all would find reality cares not a whit, we’re stuck with the idea of it. But maybe that is not so wrong, to mind and earth we do belong, fantasies spur the brain to song, maybe half of what makes like tick is simply the idea of it.
