My Youth
My youth, where did it go? A lifetime slipped quickly away and looking back, those are the days I miss; days of endless play without a worry or a care knowing how grandma's house was always waiting there. How foolish were my dreams pondering every wish and foolish imaginings, soon to be real. Gene Autry and Roy Rogers sang on the radio years before the tv tube was affordable and only black and white and now, does anyone but me remember simpler days? Puddle splashings in the rain bike treks along wooded terrain racing thru dirt paths where every neighbor knew your name and marbles, comic books and baseball cards were an everyday embellished game in someone's backyard. How quickly things have changed guess nothing ever stays the same but those memories are not vague but abundant and clear perhaps as we age, we return to the simpler years. My lost youth disappearing in the mirror cast, but hey after all that's going on today I'm still here, ready to play. for Craig Cornish's My Youth 12/11/18
