Christmas Mourning
Christmas is nearing, bells are ringing, carolers singing, "Deck the Halls". I hate to engage. I'd give anything to be with you one more time. To see your bright eyes and smile to hear your laughter. I wallow ragging unconscious. What care do I have in riches? Without you my life looks rough ahead. Inside I am a soul that feels so hollow, I am tired of wallowing. Family and friends swallow, do not know how to follow. My mourning for you make them not want to be near. I cannot sit back with self-pity and wallow. Christmas songs playing, a little Christmas tree by the window full of bright colored lights, gifts wrapped in bright colored paper and bows under the tree, all with a small note; To:____ From: Santa, for all of my children and grandchildren. But I cannot promise I won't shed a tear. I've wished for you in my heart, A Merry Christmas. This is our very first Christmas without you. Date: 11/27/2018
