Santa Stops At the White House
‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the White House, Santa heard snores, but from the Oval Office – a grouse! So he opened the door just a crack to behold The president tweeting on his iPhone of gold. “From Ivanka, I’m taking her email account. No more cash from rich tyrants will I let Jared flount. First lady gets a world tour!” Prez said with a laugh, “She’ll not be here to fire one more member of my staff. But, let’s see, what can I do to reward Veepy Pence? Perhaps he needs a nudge to get off his creepy fence.” Frightened Santa shut the door, up the chimney he flew To find reindeer taking polygraphs for Mueller and crew. “Trump got nothing from me!” Santa proclaimed with great haste. “I did not feed his ego. Not one gift did I waste.” Mueller let Santa go and as he rode out of sight He swore he’d never visit another house of white. *For Joseph May’s contest “’Twas the Night before Christmas” November 26, 2018
