The I, In Me
Inside is a secret enchanted map, where this life I recap; sometimes, I am lost and swirling at sea, from my mind's chatterbox I flee; deep inside is a goblin guide. Goblin takes me to the past in a snap, to a hideous trap; oh, freedom from this fear, despair, I plea, from weeping I want to be free; and I am flung into the tide. In valleys of sorrow- sadness I wrap, for peace from self, I clap; don't dwell too long in the past is the key, I say to the I, who is me; from the goblin I want to hide. In a wild storm my wings flutter and flap, where joy and sad overlap; oh, why can my inside not be filled with glee, and be strong like a mighty tree; so confused that my thoughts collide. I want a magic wand that I can tap, and inside voices slap; I pray, pray but there is no guarantee, yes I call out to the great he; oh, was that his voice that just sighed, __________________________ November 23, 2018 Poetry/Rhyme/The I, in Me Copyright Protected, ID 18-1087-297-01 All Rights Reserved.
