The Suitless Santa
The Suitless Santa Twas the night before Christmas, Jack Daniels and me Waiting for dear Santa to come down and fill the tree My cat lay purring and had forgotten about the mouse Falling soundly asleep while listening to Johann Strauss The kid’s upstairs texting all through the nestled night No need for décor, their phones were brilliantly bright The wife at the mirror combing her tinsel tangled hair While grandma and grandpa gave a nasty bitter stare Uncle Buck napping on the rooftop looking for St Nick Just before the blessing of the snow after becoming sick The neighbors were off to bed as they danced with glee Shouting ‘there is no Santa’ in their yearly laughing spree Then it happened, I heard a nary noise and to my surprise I think I saw a scrawny Santa Claus accompanied in guise In my defense, slurry Jack Daniel asks ‘where is your suit?’ ‘I left them at the cleaners’ said the man holding the loot. ...Merry Christmas & keep looking out for the real Santa lol Nov.21.2018 The Night Before Poetry Sponsored by: Joseph May Placed 2'nd...thank you
