Every Rose Has It's Thorn
Every rose has it's thorn, And every heart has been torn. Love isn't easy my friend. You think you've won, then it ends. Every bird has sung a song, And the road to you grows so long. I follow it round and round, But you are nowhere to be found. I've seen you maybe once or twice, But neither of us were too nice. It seems we didn't know what to say. We looked, then slowly turned away. I recall being with you not too long ago. It had felt so right, but what did I know? I never thought you'd just leave. There's no more "us" now, just me. I really thought that you cared, But you're not here, you're there. So I guess I was wrong. Did you just pretend all along? God, I miss you so very much, Your embrace and special touch. I wish you were with me still. I care for you and always will. (10/1988)
