A Shadow Cast
One man once saw a forbidden land Under a sky of gold A place to land Nature asked the man Why did he seek? Was it to gain more land to help feed the weak? Was it to take the land to prosper on? What of the native man, what of his home? The man took the steel and the powder keg He forced the natives to flee or swore to see them dead Greed became the key to success and wealth But nature frowned upon the man! Nature said no more, this is not your land! The man ignored nature and chose to fight To fight all in his way no matter what or who and fight them all with all his might! The man succeeded and a shadow cast! Native families ripped in two, tears, blood and death over their grass! Nature took revenge upon the man Nature moved the plates of the earth to change the mass! The rains couldn’t get past the new mountain lines The crops of man died a thousand times The man lost it all and died one day. Left penniless and insane - but he’d had his way!
