Loose Thread
I studied your face Every gesture or mannerism Not claiming I made a mistake When choosing you I remember every touch Feel, scent of your oder Every visible dimple and mole Every crevice and wrinkle You, my hero on a pedestal Trying so hard to win you Even though you and I are bonded I am still a far distance from you You pushed when I pulled Goals left undone, just events pulling us through Moved into his Moms, was shushed by you I sunk deeper within myself till going a bit mad Thread and needle, mine is loose I tried to tighten it, but inevitably it split Not by my doing, you were my silent shadow My counterpart, till death due us part But, you had other plans not involving me There were many-he told me Shreds of thread are left scattered I still piece together them bit by bit But I am missing the needle now Tight rope...left me for a man Whom he also left with many others Then an unfortunate demise, he lost his balance Now, I try so hard to remember his fragrance I moved on, and see him in my children's eyes Woven up all my thread-compromised With another similar needle instead
