The Change
I wonder just how much a divine intervention Would grasp so much a heart's attention To cleanse the heart of deadly gain To avoid a much deeper down the road pain Childish thinking would let me allow prosperity of the world the way it is now to let me live my best life today to hope for eternity on another day I remember the past and the men who served Gave up their lives and in doing so swerved The focus on religion; to them I applaud For putting the attention back on God One night my wife asked "Why do you care?" Because the evil that existed is still lurking there Slammed her glass and walked away And I never saw her after that day As I wished her well as she left my side I couldn't help but cry for my once was bride She left me because she couldn't bear The thought of what kept me here; to care Despite that when I die I want no tears I'll be in heaven because throughout the years My goal in life remained the same Through my example to Christ people came I wish you well for your weary travel But with with journey may the truth unravel The need to care and the need to heart The very thing that keeps you and God apart
