Was Snake Once a Dragon
They say that snake once had legs; That snake descended from dragon. I’ve never seen a snake breathe fire; Nor one that had wings although, There really is a flying snake that flies without wings; it’s more or less leaping, tree-to-tree. Perhaps it’s studied meditation, Like the many Holy Monks; hurling itself through the air, in levitation? Perhaps it was once dragon; Maybe a prehistoric one; who knows? There must’ve once been dragons; so many cultures speak of them; It’s too coincidental that they all describe dragons the same. Perhaps some still exist, beneath ocean in caves. Maybe Nessie, Ogopogo, Champ and Mokele M’bembe are modern day dragons without wings? If it’s true that life evolves; why couldn’t they, dragons be? Then again, perhaps I’m just a dreamer in love with dragon lore? Oh I do love dragons.
