In giving cards one final glance, I said, "Four eights now take your chance." The dealer gave an evil grin, then he said, "Four nines I win." And as I left with pockets filled with lint, I thought how can I pay the rent. Rather going home to face the wife, I just as soon as take my life. And there it was a wad of cash, just lying there.
