Coming Home Or Going To Heaven
As I sit and wait for news, my anxiety's high Lost in thoughts and prayer and asking god why You have endured so much and now this You deserve a break, some peace and bliss I listen to the noises and sounds that surround Smells of antiseptic and sights of hospital gowns I hear voices and laughter and painful moans As I sit and pray we’ll be taking you back home I plead with God to spare you one more time Hear the clock ticking as I wait for a sign Your surgery has been for hours, it’s almost seven Wondering if you are coming home or going to heaven Just heard the news, you made it through and will be fine Relieved, I think my prayers worked or something else divine So thankful and grateful you’re still here and able to go home I love and still need you Dad, even though I am now all grown
