The Journey
Why are we here? Why do we exist? To feel emotion and pain And compassion for people we hold dear? One thing I can't comprehend Is why things end Why we die, why we live, why we cry, Why we give? Why laugh and why work? If everything ends then god's a jerk. Why work so hard to please If in the end you get a disease Why do we inflict pain When in the end it really doesn't matter Why put yourself in a situation When your heart will shatter. But something must mattter If this is a long journey To laugh and to cry are our special gifts To help and be empathetic for others When they need a lift. The journey is what we make of it If in the end the journey stops and all is over Have we achieved or left wishing we did more? It is your actions that decide this So now go and explore.
